Hand made backpack in gorgeous 5 ounce taupe water buffalo leather. Made by Scott from start to finish, sewn by hand with a sturdy saddle stitch.
We have the water buffalo leather split down to 5 oz so it is thinner, a bit softer, and lighter weight, but still holds its shape well.
Backpack is approximately 10 inches wide, 12 1/4 inches tall, and 4 3/4 inches deep and has a generous pocket under the front flap (see photo #3). Bag features a subtle natural edge flap. Solid brass buckle closure and adjustable vegetable tanned straps riveted on with solid brass rivets. For size reference, the backpack will hold most average-size laptops or a standard size clipboard.
Our hand stitching is informed by our study of shoemaking. It involves hand punching each hole with a very sharp awl, then sewing with two needles at once, joining the pieces together. As a result, the insides of our bags show little or no stitching, and feature clean, crisp lines that are just as beautiful as the outsides. We take great joy in creating bags in which every stitch is intentional and every inch is thought out!
We strive to combine traditional craft and modern design to create bags that are timeless, functional, and will last a lifetime.
